LLI 47 The Sacred Ordinary | For Visionaries Who Crave More Than Strategy
Show notes
This isn’t an episode about religion. It’s about what holds us when we’re not sure what to believe anymore—and the tenderness in admitting we don’t know. Through poetic musing and raw honesty, this iteration explores the invisible systems that guide us—beliefs, relationships, suffering, sacredness—and how we might live from them more consciously.
For creatives, seekers, and soulful leaders tired of rigid truths and hungry for living ones.
This invitation is for you: What are you navigating right now? What has this podcast opened up in you? If you’ve been listening, the door is open for you to join in, share, connect—and help shape what comes next.

00:00:00: What is holy? What is sacred?
00:00:03: Are you ready to love the little louder?
00:00:07: Come with me to iteration number 37 of the Love Louder podcast,
00:00:13: "Iterations on Becoming Human".
00:00:17: I was struggling in Colombia
00:00:20: two months, so low backpacking as a woman.
00:00:25: And it turns out that is quite a source of conversations.
00:00:33: The Colombians are very open, very friendly, how I met them.
00:00:38: And the small talk that you start with is actually not the small talk
00:00:44: that you are probably familiar with in like our western hemisphere.
00:00:51: So we dive deeply directly to are you married?
00:00:56: What do you believe in? What is your job?
00:01:01: Do you have brothers, sisters? Are they married? How is their life?
00:01:08: And one question that popped up in one of these conversations was,
00:01:17: "I am Christian. What religion do you belong to?"
00:01:25: I get overwhelmed by that question. I admit that because I don't know.
00:01:32: I am neither religious nor spiritual. Neither it is this podcast.
00:01:41: So we are trying to find a base and I perceive that it's not possible
00:01:50: in this conversation right now to not have a religion.
00:01:55: But still I believe there is God and I do not just believe it. God is.
00:02:03: Now I have no idea of these religious, spiritual thoughts, wisdom,
00:02:11: but I do have beliefs or the beliefs have me. It doesn't matter.
00:02:16: It's one and the same anyway. But that is personal.
00:02:21: And through that personality or that being personal, the beliefs,
00:02:28: they become universal because we all have beliefs.
00:02:33: It doesn't matter if we believe that we are spiritual or not,
00:02:40: that we believe that we are religious or not,
00:02:45: that we believe one religion is better than the other suits us more or not,
00:02:50: that we believe that there is a God from whichever base of religion or none at all.
00:02:58: That we have beliefs, beliefs as human beings is very common.
00:03:08: There is no human without beliefs. That's part of humanity.
00:03:15: And through that it is universal. And if this is too far away, at least,
00:03:21: it is public because you always display your beliefs.
00:03:27: If you explicitly talk about them or not, if you can pinpoint them or not,
00:03:35: it's a different question, but you live accordingly to what is the belief in you
00:03:44: and not just one. It's a set of beliefs. These are molecules of beliefs.
00:03:49: And we can easily live by beliefs that are not serving us,
00:03:54: that just keeps us looping in circles of pain and suffering.
00:04:02: Yet still, we can use them as the base of our life.
00:04:06: So that is the point where when we suffered enough,
00:04:10: when we have enough of the pain, when we want to change something,
00:04:13: when we finally decide that something matters to be changed,
00:04:18: because we cannot love it and we cannot stay with it,
00:04:23: that's very often when people seek solutions in courses and seminars
00:04:30: and coachings and mentorings. This is to enhance change,
00:04:36: to speed up the change of what you believe will be better
00:04:43: or what you believe to get that will be better.
00:04:51: So having beliefs, first of all, it is human.
00:05:00: And when you are in the process of dissecting belief systems
00:05:07: or looking close up to some of the molecules of your belief system,
00:05:14: sometimes it can be frustrating, sometimes it can be just digging into a rabbit hole
00:05:20: and never ending, because very often one single belief,
00:05:25: it is not a standalone thing. They're connected.
00:05:34: Like it's connected to, for example, very simple,
00:05:38: I'm not a good speaker, it's connected to, I'm not good enough for speaking in this case.
00:05:48: It's also connected to others, judge me, for example, it's very simple.
00:05:55: So it is very individual how the molecule looks like,
00:05:59: but then they never are alone.
00:06:03: And if you start shaking one belief and the whole molecule,
00:06:08: when it solves itself, it starts busting the whole thing.
00:06:17: And that is why there is such a big industry, such a big field of guidance, of support,
00:06:29: as in professional support.
00:06:32: I mean professional as in you actually do this as a service to someone else consciously.
00:06:44: Sometimes it's our friends that help us busting beliefs and changing an opinion that we had before
00:06:52: and just helping us to get the thing that we feared and to overcome anxiety and to dive into change.
00:07:01: Sometimes they just don't even leave us a second, they just grab us under the arm and pull us and say,
00:07:08: "Hey, let's go, that's gonna be fun." And we're gonna be like, "Ooh, I'm not sure."
00:07:15: And still it's our loved ones, it's our friends.
00:07:19: They just offer the belief system of theirs that sometimes creates friction with ours,
00:07:26: and sometimes it goes in harmony.
00:07:30: And that's it, it's really simple.
00:07:34: Now what is holy, what is sacred?
00:07:37: These are words that I have seen at some points in the internet, on the internet,
00:07:49: as used for marketing very often, without knowing what is behind there.
00:08:00: So forgive myself, it's just what I perceived in the first place.
00:08:06: Now it led me to contemplating what is holy, what is sacred.
00:08:13: Also this question to what religion do you belong to?
00:08:20: Because what I experience is what is sacred and holy and important, it is not tied to religion.
00:08:32: And God too is not spiritual, neither religious.
00:08:37: Truth is not spiritual, neither religious at all.
00:08:42: Pure consciousness, it is not spiritual, neither religious.
00:08:47: In fact, it does not care how you, on which pathway you find truth.
00:08:56: You seek truth on whatever way you wish.
00:09:02: And it's our human tendency to pull up,
00:09:08: to pull up these boundaries or borders between different belief systems, between different religions.
00:09:15: And it's the moment when we obsess over that one thing that we create,
00:09:22: we create more harm than peace, that we create that tension or that competition, which there is none in truth.
00:09:32: But sometimes we have to go through that as an experience, as an individual, as a collective to, at some point, finally,
00:09:44: See behind that veil.
00:09:46: Now, it serves nothing for our practicability to know in theory that all is one, that you
00:09:58: are everything and everything is you, that there is no difference between you and me.
00:10:03: It does not serve at all for this life, for the mundane life.
00:10:07: If we do not let it serve it, if we try to escape the life in itself by seeking for truth,
00:10:21: this cannot be sacred, this cannot be holy.
00:10:30: So what is it then?
00:10:32: Now when creation penetrates everything, the Christ consciousness, the Buddha consciousness,
00:10:38: the Brahma consciousness, the pure consciousness, truth, everything is holy, everything is sacred,
00:10:45: the mundane is sacred, the secular is sacred, and it is so easy that we try, it is hard
00:10:52: for us.
00:10:53: It is hard for us to grasp this simplicity.
00:11:00: It is sacred when you get angry at that neighbor who again just did not greet you.
00:11:08: It is sacred to wake up in the morning and see the light coming through the curtains.
00:11:16: The moment of hesitation and anxiety you feel before a big change comes, it is sacred.
00:11:25: The pause you find for yourself in the midst of chaos, it is sacred as the chaos itself,
00:11:34: as the judging of how you could not find the pause and just drowned in the chaos.
00:11:41: It is sacred, the drama that you have with your loved one, in your relationship, in your
00:11:48: family, in your business.
00:11:52: It is all sacred.
00:11:58: And that's the simplest thing to grasp and yet the hardest thing for our mind because
00:12:06: we want to make it complicated.
00:12:08: We want to know what there is and we're searching outside of us because we believe that there
00:12:15: is something that we do not have yet.
00:12:21: That is that sacred thing.
00:12:24: And then there comes something filling this gap with saying, "Hey, this is sacred, sales
00:12:30: is sacred, success is sacred, business is sacred, relationship is sacred."
00:12:37: And then they will build on that gap they created because it's what you see searching
00:12:43: for ultimately especially when you got to listening this podcast until this minute,
00:12:50: this episode, you are seeking and we will be seeking until we're finding.
00:13:00: And then when we found truth, when truth found us and believe that truth is chasing you but
00:13:10: you cannot see it because you're running towards an illusion of truth.
00:13:19: That's just how we are as humans.
00:13:21: It's comical.
00:13:27: But then what is it when we're there?
00:13:31: What will we do?
00:13:33: Sitting in a cave meditating, being all alone all the same time because truth is one as
00:13:39: everything dissolves.
00:13:41: What will you do then?
00:13:42: Will you go through life still?
00:13:48: You will have all the emotions, you will have all the emotions, you will have all the drama
00:13:52: still.
00:13:56: Just deeper.
00:13:59: I say it's deeper, it's more intense because you're not afraid anymore because you know
00:14:07: this is not what you're running away from anyway.
00:14:11: You're running towards it because this is holy.
00:14:15: This is sacred.
00:14:18: Everything is sacred here because it's this life you get to experience.
00:14:24: It's this life that you have provided you the opportunity to question what is truth,
00:14:30: what is holy, what is sacred, what is the mundane.
00:14:35: Look that pebble, the little pebble that gets in your shoe and that you keep walking
00:14:39: with and it keeps bothering you for a while until you finally take it out.
00:14:44: It is sacred too as in walking in the shoes without the pebble as if there was never any.
00:15:04: We get so caught up in pretension, in pretence too, in pretending that we're holy and all
00:15:14: sacred when we once experienced truth and oneness and it is kind of a spiritual ego
00:15:22: too again this is very very mundane.
00:15:30: And sometimes it comes with it like that smug attitude of well they didn't get there yet
00:15:37: but I did.
00:15:39: They didn't know but I did.
00:15:41: They're in the drama but I'm not.
00:15:43: While you are in the drama, when you say things like that, it's just a different one than
00:15:50: before.
00:15:52: So what is there?
00:15:53: We might as well just give up the truth, surrender to this world and this is the holiest thing
00:16:01: that we can do.
00:16:04: It leads us back into our bodies.
00:16:07: It leads us back into the experiences.
00:16:10: It leads us back into humanity and that is what it means to become human in these iterations.
00:16:21: It's meaning coming back to your body, living your life fully, learning to love through the
00:16:32: experiences, not in an all light and love way, in a pretend holy and in a shiny untouchable
00:16:42: way but in a way that is mundane.
00:16:47: It gets dirty here, it gets challenging.
00:16:52: It is life.
00:16:53: You will stumble, you will fall on your face, you feel everything there is, you will find
00:16:59: friends, you will lose friends, you will find allies, you will lose them.
00:17:05: There will be breakups, there will be romances, there will be no seeds and sprouts of relationships
00:17:11: emerging and opportunities in business and profession and in your whole life, you will
00:17:20: be going through all these motions as the person that you are becoming, as the human, as humanity
00:17:31: condensed in one person, as creation condensed in one person.
00:17:44: Sometimes the biggest surrender we can devote ourselves to is living our life.
00:17:57: The most sacred thing that we can do is living our life and stopping the search, stopping
00:18:06: scrolling for the next methodology, the next method, the next pathway, the next milestone
00:18:16: on our journey.
00:18:19: It is your journey after all, you can never fall behind on your own journey.
00:18:28: It's impossible.
00:18:36: My invitation to you and to us for today is opening our hearts and eyes for the sacredness
00:18:49: of the mundane life, of the secular, of these very little things that bug us, that make
00:18:57: us happy, that stir our emotions up, everything that there comes this day to day and the rest
00:19:11: of the day and if you want to start with a fresh day, do it tomorrow.
00:19:16: It all is sacred, everything.
00:19:25: Love a little louder.
00:19:29: Hear you soon.
00:19:30: Shang.
00:19:30: Thank you for watching.
